When Lainey Wright first went into a studio at age 16, it was only to record simple versions of a few original songs. But things began to happen. Other musicians joined in, creating new sounds. New songs were born. New friends were made. And when it was all said and done, Lainey Wright had a full-length album to share---a project lyrically rich, organic and refreshingly honest. With songs of hope in darkness, faith that sometimes loses its way, redemption in this life and joy in the passage. It was called "Count It Joy", and she has spent the last two years sharing it in communities, coffee houses and churches all over Texas. In the Fall of 2008, Lainey was invited to join the Canadian-based band NewWorldSon for their Texas tour. Coming off the tour, Lainey and good friend John Nunnally released an independent Christmas album, "Merry Christmas". It was a busy year. Now, at age 19, Lainey is finishing up her coffee house tour, moving to Austin, Texas and writing music for her second project, an all-acoustic album she hopes to complete in early 2010. The journey has been unexpected. The blessings more than plentiful. And the hope? Always, always the hope that somehow the beautiful God and Creator of all will use the music that He put in one heart to penetrate the heart of another. "Count It Joy" is currently available at Fuel Coffee House in Llano, Texas, ... or
