The Comenius School for Creative Leadership (CSCL) is a Christian, K-12 school located on the grounds of Heritage International Ministries and operates under the auspices of MorningStar Ministries. CSCL seeks to raise up the next generation of leaders with cooperative effort from each family, the church at large, and the staff at school. Our vision is to minister to the full potential of each student by providing an atmosphere that encourages a love for learning, a desire for excellence, and the development of each student's gifts, talents, and leadership skills. Because of our distinctive approach to education, each student is equipped spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and physically in order to fulfill God's call for his or her life and to be a positive influence in society. Recently, student passion for the Lord resulted in a ministry-wide Holy Spirit breakout which continues to this day. Unique Features of CSCL Students attend classes daily, Monday through Thursday. Fridays are free so that students may seek to supplement their formal education by taking classes at local colleges, interning or apprenticing with local ministries and businesses, as well as taking art, music, dance, drama, and/or private lessons. Classes are small, concentrated, and creative with an emphasis on higher level thinking and student generated projects. Intensive scheduling is the buzzword for a distinctive course load for students.
CSCL has a "No Homework" policy. Our philosophy is that the best way to prepare students to take charge of their education is to allow them the freedom to give attention to other pursuits, leaving them with time to spend with their family, take part in sports, hold jobs, develop hobbies, and even do independent research. Middle and upper grade students and CSCL staff start each day with worship and prayer in a corporate setting. |
